The First Men's Guide to Cleaning House: How to Do a Job That's Bigger Than You Are on the Strength of Your Admittedly Puny Endowments
Published in Hardcover by St. Martin's Press (March, 1993)
Average review score:

Dry Educated humor at its bestThis is a tiny book, but it is packed chock full of humor. I appreciate this book as one of the funniest I have ever read, and recommend it for anyone. The title is a bit unfortunate, as I think that it may scare off some potential readers (but...hey, I didn't see "Romancing the Stone" for a month after it came out for the same reason, so what do I know...!) There are even some actual hints for cleaning, from which men might actually benefit.
A must have for a humor minded bachelor, or a husband who refuses to clean....

Four by Sondheim (A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum)
Published in Hardcover by Applause Books (March, 2000)
Average review score:

4 great shows in one! While I have all four of these books in Paperback and therefore have had no need to buy this book I have looked through this book and I think buying this one is a MUCH better idea than buying them seperately. This book includes pictures, Drawings by Al Hirschfield, Cut-Lyrics and more. All four of the shows are purely genius and provide you with laughter while provoking thoughts. This is a must for all Sondheim fans and musical fans and anyone interested in 4 great shows: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Sunday in the Park With George,Sweeny Todd, and A Little Night Music.

Fra Angelico: Dissemblance & Figuration N
Published in Hardcover by University of Chicago Press (October, 1995)
Average review score:

!NECESSITY!At last a book that bridges the gap of ambiguity between Christian art and art history. Didi-Huberman's eloquent investigation of both the painter (a Dominican, Fra Angelico) and the context (a Catholic theology within the Dominican Order) provides an insightful interpretation of images that most art historians tend to treat clinically. Didi-Huberman is well versed in not only iconography, but speaks fluently on the sources that influenced the Dominican painter (Holy Scripture, the works of Plato, and the theological writings of St. Thomas Aquinas). I highly recommend this book for artists, theologians, and art historians. This is a book that can forever alter the interaction between viewer and image, and will hopefully incite an awakening in how we interpret and understand the paintings of Quattrocento Florence. The original French probably offers the best read, but I will continue to hope for more English translations of Didi-Huberman's work.

Todd Komarnicki: Why isn't this man famous?Every so often a new author comes along and shares a vision with his readers that had yet been unseen. Komarnicki is such a man. He has the courage and non-myopic reason that is truly refreshing. In Free, Mr. Komarnicki takes on a subject that is hoplessly difficult to draw attention to: homelessness. The books primary character, "Free", is not a pathetic, grubby character. Instead, Komarnicki carefully creates a sincere, intelligent man who is radically loyal to the end. Very intersting and very enticing. I would love to meet this fascinating author.

The Future of Development Assistance: Common Pools and International Public Goods (Policy Essay, No 25)
Published in Paperback by Overseas Development Council (15 September, 1999)
Average review score:

action packed thrill ride through development economicsThe contribution of Mr. Morrison et al to the world is second only to the guy who invented the wheel and the woman who invented reading and writing. If these latter two had met and progenerated, the absquatulation of the pairing could have no better outcome than Morrison, who, during breaks from rocking the casbah with Bono in the twosome "floralia", unleashes a powerful interpretation of current statistical data with stinging analysis and brilliant conclusions that would make Disraeli conclude that there are only two kinds of lies after all. If development econ is your bag, hang onto your hats and prepare to greet the revolution. This is the finest work on the subject since Amartya Sen started feeling entitled.
